Everyone has questions before their first visit to The Velvet Rope.
Here are answers to some of our more common questions:
When is The Velvet Rope open?
Due to local restrictions, starting on Friday 2/26/21 we will be open Friday and Saturday nights at 7 PM. We will close each night at 11 PM.
During normal business (After COVID Restrictions are lifted):
We are open Thursday through Sunday. We open at 8 PM on Thursdays and Sundays. On Friday and Saturday nights we open at 9 PM. We close on Thursdays and Sundays at 2 AM. On weekends we close at 4 AM.
What is The Velvet Rope?
The Velvet Rope is a private adult on-site social club. Because we serve alcohol we are a 21 and over club. We offer a sex-positive environment to connect with like-minded people. As a private social club, we are a members-based nightclub.
We host events four nights a week that vary from Kink Nights that cater to the BDSM community to more traditional swingers events. We welcome all members regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, nation of origin, ability or age.
Where are you located?
We are located at 3533 SE Cesar E. Chavez Blvd, in Portland, OR
How do I become a member?
You can join any night the club is open. The front desk staff will walk you through the waiver process and collect the applicable fees to join. Once your membership and door fees are paid, all new members go on a tour to start the evening off.
If we join as a couple do we need to always attend as a couple?
No, each member of the couple will be entered into our system as a member on their own. You are free to attend as a single or a couple with another member.
In order to utilize couples pricing you will need to come in with another member, a single male for example even though they joined as a couple would pay as a single male if he comes in alone.
Do you have parking?
Yes! We have three parking lots available. The first is right next door to our building. The second is across the street in the parking garage. Finally, there is overflow parking on the corner of Powell and Cesar E. Chavez Blvd.
Do you offer tours?
Each new guest gets a tour to start off their first evening at the club. We want you to get lost in the excitement of a new adventure and not in the club!
Do you take credit cards?
Yes! Customers can use credit (or debit) cards at the front desk and both bars. There is also a cash machine at the bank we share a parking lot with.
What is the best way to contact someone at the club?
Contact TVR staff 24/7 via the web contact form.
During business hours, the front desk can be reached at 971-271-7064.
Outside of business hours, it is often best to contact the club via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do I have to be 21 to attend events?
Yes due to our license with the OLCC we are considered a bar and only open to those who are 21 years of age or older. This is verified upon entry.
Do you have showers and lockers?
There are lockers available for use, members need to either bring a lock or purchase one at the front desk. Lockers are located next to each shower and outside of the Couple’s Lounge.
There is a shower on the first floor next to the hot tub. There are two more showers upstairs by the entrance to the outdoor hot tub.
Since you have a smoking deck, can I smoke weed at TVR?
Because TVR has a license with OLCC, there is no use of marijuana permitted on the property. This includes both flower and vapes.
Do I have to be a member to attend events at TVR?
All ticketed events include a single night membership so you do not need to be a member to attend. Unless otherwise posted on the event listing, all other events require a membership.
Where do I find information about upcoming events?
Check the calendar on the website for a listing of our monthly events and a full calendar of theme parties. Be sure to subscribe to the calendar so new events synch to your cellular device.
Does TVR have a dress code? What about theme nights?
The dress code for regular club nights is business casual and club wear. We ask all guests dress for success and this means things like flip flops and athletic wear should be left at home.
Many of our ticketed events and theme nights have their own dress codes so it is always best to check our events tab to see what is happening at the club on any given evening. Dressing in theme for these events is always welcome.
